M2M WINS Community Event of the Year!

M2M WINS Community Event of the Year!

The problem….Eastern Health Hospital Paediatric Units (The Angliss, Maroondah Hospital, Box Hill Hospital) are not supported by many of the major fundraisers throughout the year.

Our local paediatric units are in desperate need of resources - everything from coloured pencils to help entertain kids pre-op, through to ultrasound machines to assist in finding veins and distraction equipment for procedures to reduce anxiety, pain and fear.

Hospital-grade sensory kits are needed to support our children and youth and this is currently unfunded.

Over the last year this is how many children were cared for at our local hospitals:

Box Hill 11,160

Angliss 10,414

Maroondah 10,221

PLUS 4000 outpatients and a new baby every 2 hours!

THAT’S A LOT OF KIDS NEEDING OUR HELP!

Testimonials from our partners and sponsors

  • Mountain to Melbourne was a powerful example of what can be achieved when purpose and partnership align. Supporting an initiative that supports our local Eastern Health hospitals and delivers real outcomes for local children and families, while bringing the community together in such a meaningful way, is exactly why Eastland is proud to be involved

  • I would like acknowledged the exceptional care the registered nurse in the imaging department this morning showed to my daughter at Maroondah Hospital. The nurse picked up that my daughter was quite anxious about her procedure this morning and went above and beyond to talk her through the procedure and offering her options, including the use of a VR headset to make her more comfortable.

  • We used them today for a needle phobic patient requiring a hip joint injection. He was extremely anxious prior to the injection and chose the Borneo meditation option. Throughout the procedure he remained calm while viewing this new experience. Post procedure he was highly thankful that we were able to supply this option and stated that he had been dreading the idea of having the injection but had felt completely comfortable throughout. It was gratifying to see that this does help people with major fears.
